McDowell County Nickels for Know-How Referendum

The Nickels for Know-How referendum is being held on November 17 to let users and producers of feed or fertilizer decide if they wish to continue the self-assessment program. This program has been in place since 1948.

Voluntary Agriculture District Info Session Fall 2022

McDowell County has established a Voluntary Farmland Preservation Program to protect and preserve agricultural lands and activities. Learn about the qualifications for this program and the benefits of enrolling your land by attending our online information session on November 10 at 10 a.m.

Agriculture Advisory Board Members Needed

The Agricultural Advisory Board is seeking volunteers to serve on the Board. The purpose of the Board is to review and approve applications for qualified farmland and voluntary agricultural districts and make recommendations concerning the establishment and modification of agricultural districts.

As the temperatures are starting to drop again it is once again time to start thinking about our friends and neighbors that struggle this time of year. McDowell 4-H along with McDowell Access to Care and Health is conducting the 3rd annual Share the Warmth drive.
