Friendsgiving District Event- December 3, 2022

Come celebrate Friendsgiving with other 4-H'ers. This event will be a district wide program for teens (13-18) that will include a service project and giving back to the community. Teens will be able to meet and connect with other 4-H'ers from across the district.

Lunch will be included. Transportation will be provided for the first five to sign up. Registration due no later that Monday, November 28.

Cost: $10.00 ( have cash with you to pay at event)
Location: Rowan County Extension office
Time: Leave office at 7:30 a.m. Return at 5:30 p.m.

4-H Outbound International Program

Does your teen 4-H'er want to travel the world and learn about other cultures?

4-H'ers can live with host families and experience daily life in another country through these once-in-a-lifetime programs! Join us on Zoom to learn about the 4-H International exchange trips that will be available in the summer of 2023: Japan (4-week and 8-week programs), and Costa Rica (4-week program) and others. This one hour meeting will include an overview of the programs, how to apply, and a Q&A session.  This meeting is open to 4-H'ers, parents, club leaders/volunteers and 4-H agents. Youth ages 12 and older, parents, volunteers are invited to attend.

Date: November 10, 2022
Time: 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

2023 NC 4-H Volunteer Leaders' Conference ~ February 3-4

The 2023 NC 4-H Volunteer Leaders' Conference will be February 3-4, 2023, at the Hilton Durham near Duke University. This is your opportunity to participate in workshops and seminars designed especially for 4-H volunteers and agents to create positive learning experiences for young people across the state.

In order to attend this conference, you must be an approved volunteer in 4-H Online. Registration rates are listed on the document below and, as in previous years, include several registration options. Please note that there is only one deadline, and all registrations must be entered by your 4-H Agent. No registrations will be accepted after this time. This is a state deadline. The deadline for Cumberland County is Friday, January 6, 2023.

U.S.A. Animal Systems Virtual Career Fair. Animal Systems:  Growth and care of animals and their products/byproducts. Careers in research, nutrition, animal care, processing, and sustainability.


Organizations are looking for talent to fill the workforce gaps in the agriculture and food industry. There are abundant opportunities in production, logistics, finance, processing, technology, packaging, and much more. Careers are available on the farm, in the field, plant, lab and office.

Enrollment for 4-H Online 2022 is now OPEN!  Please enroll or update a previous enrollment as soon as possible.

*** As a reminder, youth must be enrolled in 4-H Online to participate in any 4-H activity, club, event or Summer Fun ***

Please see the attached letter that details information that will make your enrollment and re-enrollment much easier. If you were enrolled in the system last year, you will not have to set up a brand new account. Your login information is the same. Please reach out if you need assistance or need your password reset.

Adults, please note that in the information transfer many of our volunteers and adult birthdates were changed. Unfortunately, you will need to go in and add your actual date of birth.

Also note that you will need to determine a club affiliation in order for your
application to go through. If you are not in a particular club, please select
Member at Large (Cumberland County).

Please refer to the letter attached and contact the 4-H office if you have any questions.
