Master Gardeners Receive Emeritus Status

A Master Gardener Volunteer with a history of outstanding volunteer service can be granted emeritus status by the local Extension agent. Examples of outstanding volunteer service include long-term, active participation as an effective volunteer and positive role model, service in leadership roles, and advocacy for the EMG program. This designation entitles the volunteer to attend monthly meetings, participate in continuing education and social events, receive local and state EMG program communications, and access the EMG Intranet but exempts them from meeting the annual volunteer service and continuing education requirements. Emeritus status is an honor reserved for exemplary volunteers. James “Sully” Sullivan, Corey Bailey, and Elo-ly Bailey have received the emeritus designation. Congratulations and thanks for all the volunteer work in Cherokee County.
