Grazing Workshop
On May 27th our livestock agent hosted a hands on workshop on grazing management strategies for livestock producers at the Harvest House in Ramseur. This program focused on pasture management and using temporary grazing to maximize forage utilization. Two hours of DKNOX pesticide credits were offered. Thank you to all that participated.

Fun Educational Video Series
Through the month of June and July our 4-H Facebook page and YouTube channel will be featuring two different video series. One will focus on careers in Agriculture with interviews from those in our community who hold those positions and will post on Wednesdays.. The other will be fun videos with topics ranging from easy recipes for youth to hands on science experiments and will post on Fridays.

Summer Intern
An Extension summer intern works with Extension personnel to deliver hands-on, educational programs. Job shadowing and mentoring help interns learn about the mission and work of North Carolina Cooperative Extension. Meet our Randolph County summer intern!

We're Hiring Two Positions

First is a 4-H Progam Assistant.  This is a full-time (with benefits), position working with Randolph County youth in communities and at schools.    

Second is a Digital Ambassador.  This is a temporary part-time position.  Through speaking engagements, social media posts, press releases, event booths, and constant contact with customers, you have the chance to build awareness of the actions Randolph County residents can do the help improve broadband problems in Randolph County.

Are you a renter living in Randolph
County who needs help making rent or utility payments due to the COVID-19 pandemic? The NC HOPE Program may be able to help. To find out more, visit #NCHOPE. Or are you a landlord with a tenant behind on rent due to the impacts of COVID-19? The NC HOPE Program allows landlords to get payments for back rent if the tenant qualifies for assistance. Although landlords cannot apply for the NC HOPE Program, they can refer distressed tenants to the program.
