LEE COUNTY DELEGATION TO CITIZENSHIP NC FOCUS 3 SPACES | $75 | June 21-22 | Cary, NC | 4-H ages 13-18 ________________________________ Register in 4HO & pay Lee County 4-H by May 11. The first three will be approved to participate. This is an overnight conference that includes an opportunity to meet your representatives or congressman. Pam Kerley will chaperone the delegation, transportation will be provided.

CRECER | Cultivating Research Experiences with Community Engaged Roots July 9-15 ________________________________ Grow as a scientist scholar during the summer kick-off for this year-round research program enrolling Hispanic/Latine high school students from Lee and Chatham Counties. This is a free residential research experience at NC State this summer.

AIRE = Application, Interview, Resume, Essay. AIRE is open to any 4-H member ages 11-18. This program is how NC 4-H selects our delegates to attend National 4-H trips. The New AIRE Prep-Packet is located on the NC 4-H Website. Registration has 2 steps. Youths register in 4HO and then complete a google
uploads form.

RESEARCH CONSERVATION WORKSHOP June 25-30th, 2023 | Apply now with your local SWCD ________________________________
The Resource Conservation Workshop is a weeklong intensive study and hands-on conservation workshop requiring student application and participation in a wide range of conservation topics. The workshop is intended to engage students to learn about natural resources and their management in today’s environment. Students participate in field study, tours, hands-on sessions as well as evening activities that focus on college-decision making and career decisions. Awards and scholarships are won and presented to the students under several awards programs. The Resource Conservation Workshop students stay on campus at NC State in dormitories and attend workshop sessions on campus in Williams Hall, Lake Wheeler Research Field Labs as well as field studies at
Falls Lake State Recreation Area and Clemmons State Educational Forest in Clayton. For a sneak peak of past programs watch this video!
The Resource Conservation Workshop is fully sponsored for youth that are accepted! Students are sponsored by their local Soil and Water Conservation District (find yours here) to attend and all applications are done through the local SWCD. The Resource Conservation Workshop is a partnership between the N.C.
Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, the Hugh Hammond Bennett Chapter - Soil and Water Conservation Society of America, N.C. Soil and Water Conservation Commission, Division of Soil and Water Conservation and the Crop and Soil Sciences Department at N.C. State University.
