Pride Events for Youth & Adults

June is Pride month, and Wake County Libraries are proud to offer events and activities to recognize and raise awareness for the LGBTQ+ community.  With virtual and in-person opportunities for all ages, Wake County Libraries: Pride Events aim to provide an inclusive space to celebrate and learn. One highlight is the Teen Pride series, encouraging teenagers to socialize, express themselves, and learn from one another. Other opportunities you can expect throughout June include story times, inspiring speakers from the drag community, and hidden history. Learn more:

With so much on offer, there has never been a better time to get involved and show support for LGBTQ+ people in Wake County.

Farm Safety Donation Drive

We are gearing up for a youth-led service project in June and we could use your help! If you can support, we are looking for donations of farm safety items.

Recommended donations:

  • Gloves
  • Long sleeve shirt
  • Baseball caps/straw hats
  • Bandanas
  • Sunblock
  • Toiletries - toothbrush, deodorant, sunblock

Donate items to the Wake County Cooperative Extension Office (4001 Carya Dr Raleigh, NC 27606) by 5:00PM on Monday, June 12th.

Youth leaders from extension programs, Juntos and Liberation Out Loud, are collecting and packaging the farm safety items for NC State Extension Farm Safety & Health to deliver to agriculture’s most important asset – the people working in the field. June is National Hunger Month, and food access starts at the farm. Join our passionate young people in recognizing Migrant Farmworkers in North Carolina.

If you are unable to deliver the items to our office, please contact us and we will make separate arrangements.
