Sign Up Now for the 2023 Market Lamb Project

Are you interested in raising and showing a project lamb this summer?  Here is a great opportunity to learn all about lambs, how to show them, how to raise and care for them. 

  • If you do not know where to start - that is OK.  We have the knowledge and equipment to help you be successful

Let Tammara Talley or Joe Deal know by May 15th if you are interested in raising a lamb this year. (349-2046)
Find Your Voice with 4-H
(Presentation Title and Subject due to Tammara by May 15th)

Now is the time to think about your topic for the 2023 presentation competition.  Do you have a subject that you really love?  Do you know something you would like to teach someone else?  Here is some info you will want to know.

  • 4-H Presentations are for all ages.  Age divisions: 5-7, 8-10, 11-13, 14-18
  • Ages 8 and up can win ribbons, medals and money depending on the category
  • Save the date: District Activity Day (competition day) is June 16th
  • Please let Tammara know if you would like help with your presentation
We still have space in the Chicks to Chickens project for 2023.

We will receive our chicks on May 12th.  Email Tammara for more information.

Club Corner
Macon Mountain Goats 4-H Club

Kidding season is almost over with only one more Doe to kid. If you are interested in being on our show team please plan to attend this month so you can pick out your project animal.

This month we will be banding some bucklings.  Would like to have members 12 years and under at the meeting from 6 pm to 6:30ish and members 13 years and above at 6:30 pm until 7pm.

Macon Archers

We will meet at the 4-H Archery Range on Thursday May 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th.  Beginners shoot from 5:00 - 6:00.  Older youth will shoot from 6:00 - 7:00pm.  If you are interested in joining archery, please call Tammara for an orientation time.
Macon Sharp Shooters

In April, we moved to the Sheriff's Department shooting range at the top of Radio Hill Road.  We will shoot there again in May on May 6th and 13th.  If you have tickets please bring them to turn in on May 6th. 
WHEP

This month we need to move our dates around a little.  We will meet on Tuesday May 16th at the Needmore Wildlife Management Area in Cowee.  We will meet at 5:30.  Directions will be emailed to you.  We will also meet on Tuesday May 23rd.
Macon Hoofprints

Horse Club will be meeting at the fairground on Tuesday May 9th and May 23rd at 3:30pm.  May 9th is an unmounted day and all a4-Hers are welcome to attend.  May 23rd will be a mounted day and 4-Hers with an animal to ride may come join us.  This group is for youth 9-18.
Budding Chefs and Top Chefs


Top Chef will meet on Tuesday May 9th at 3:45.  Budding Chets will meet on Wednesday May 10th at 3:45.  These will be the last two classes before our summer break.  Please watch for information about summer fun activities.
Sassy Stitchers

Please come join us at 11:00 on Saturday May 6th at Cowee School.  We will have our first fashion show and show off the wonderful items we have many.  This month we will meet on May 18th and May 25th at 3:45.

Macon 4-H Beekeepers

In April, we went to the bee yard and got to know our hive partners.  This month we will meet outside in the bee yard on May 3rd and May 17th at 5:30.
