4-H News: 2023 Presentation Competition

On Monday, May 22nd, four Yancey County 4-H'ers participated in our 2023 4-H presentation competition. This is a fun event where youth develop a presentation to share skills, knowledge, and excitement about their 4-H project or anything they are interested in. Public speaking is one of the TOP skills that 4-H alumni say they have learned through the 4-H program that they have used in their college and adult life.

This year's participants included Cooper Ledford with his presentation on collecting sea shells, Sam Gantt with his presentation on "From K.I.T.T to Tesla", Daisy Brantley with her presentation on the evolution of Rock n' Roll, and Jacob Ledford with his presentation on beef outdoor cookery. All four participants will be advancing on to the West District Activity Day competition on Friday, June 16th at Chase High School where they will compete with other youth from the 21 counties in the West District of N.C. Cooperative Extension. Congratulations to each of these youth!
