4-H News: 2023 4-H Overnight Camp @ The Eastern 4-H Center

Eight youth from Yancey County were part of the group we took to 4-H Overnight Camp this year! North Carolina 4-H has three different residential camps across the State: Betsy Jeff Penn, The Eastern Center and Millstone 4-H Camp. Yancey County takes a group of youth ages 8-15 to one of these camp each summer! This summer, we visited The Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia, NC, on the coast!

At 4-H overnight camp, youth participate in a variety of activities, including rock climbing, swimming, games, horseback riding, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing and more! Each camp has different activities to offer. At this camp, youth have an opportunity to meet other 4-H'ers from across the State, make new friends and experience one week of camp life!

4-H Overnight Camp is an opportunity for youth to develop confidence, social skills and make memories to last a lifetime! Registration for 4-H camp starts in January of each year, so be sure to contact Jordan for more information about getting your child involved in 2024!
