The Currituck County Planes and Plows event, held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, was a huge success! Over 3,000 people attended the event to celebrate Currituck County's rich history in agriculture and aviation. The event featured a variety of activities for all ages, including air demonstrations, antique tractors, food trucks, games, airplane rides, displays, contests, and vendors. Attendees also had the opportunity to learn more about Currituck County's agricultural and aviation industries through educational exhibits and demonstrations. Farmers were celebrated with a complimentary breakfast provided by Craft Aviation and the Currituck Extension Foundation. Contests and games were another highlight of the event. Northeast NC Niche Ag Conference |
The 2023 Northeast NC Niche Ag Conference will be held on November 17, 2023 at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center in Barco, NC. This conference, designed for adults in the farming community, will consist of six hands-on short courses on topics important to farmers in eastern North Carolina. 30th Annual Currituck Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting |
The holiday season is upon us. And what better way to kick it off than joining the 30th Annual Currituck Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting on December 1, 2023! This year's theme is "Your Favorite Holiday Flix." Be here at 5:30 for Reindeer Games followed by the tree lighting at 6:30. The fun will culminate at 7:00 with the Holiday Parade. 2024 Dinah Gore Healthy Food Challenge |
The Dinah Gore Healthy Food Challenge is an exciting new cooking contest offered by 4-H. The event challenges a team of three to four 4-H members to create a dish that will serve three people using a mystery ingredient, food category and items from a locally sourced pantry. Once the ingredient is revealed, teams have 40 minutes to prepare a dish highlighting that ingredient, clean up their kitchen space and prepare a presentation for the judges. Can you stand the heat and stay in the kitchen? |
