Extension News Currituck County

August 2021
Mark your calendars for October 2nd from 1:00 - 4:00 for the Currituck Farm Festival, a celebration of our agriculture heritage!

To start our celebration, we’ll recognize our century farms and our Currituck farmers with an appreciation lunch at our food truck corral; stop by to support our local businesses and grab a bite to eat. After you get some food, head over to our agriculture through the year's display where we’ll highlight agricultural processes through the decades. These interactive displays include fun for the whole family, such as corn shelling, hay rides, antique tractors and tools, soap making demos, pumpkin bowling and more! At the same time, we’ll award our Homegrown and Handmade contest winners, hold our 4-H Chicken Show and skillet throwing contest, and vote in our Brunswick stew cook-off. With all of these contests, displays and games, there’s something to do and learn for everyone!

To stay up to date on the Currituck Farm Festival and to learn how you can enter these contests, check out our website, Eventbrite site, and YouTube channel for updates, and follow @CurrituckCES on social media outlets.
