WHEP (Wildlife Habitat Education Project)

Our wildlife group has planned out an outstanding, learning-filled spring.  We would love for you to join us.  This month we will be building bat houses to assist our most underrated neighbors.  Bats are so necessary to our mountain habitats: they help balance insect populations, are important pollinators and help disperse seeds throughout their environment.  Because they have the night shift, we barely take notice of their hard work.

Come join us and make a bat house for your yard on February 20th and 27th at 4:00pm.  Please give Tammara a call (828-349-2226) or email (tlcole2@ncsu.edu) by February 16th to attend.  We have to cut materials for your bat house.

Budding Chefs and Top Chefs

Thank you to all of our chefs who helped make and deliver cookies to our local Sheriff's Department, Forest Service Firefighters and EMS Station.  We love showing our appreciation to those who serve our community.
