Making good choices oftentimes starts with separating fact from fiction. So we decided we’d share a few truths and falsehoods about healthy eating with you. Join us on Monday, March 11th at 10:30am at the Person County Senior Center for a Fact or Fiction game!

Get Strong to Prevent Falls

Are you concerned about falls? Are you interested in improving flexibility, balance and strength? Join us in March & April for our Matter of Balance program, which is designed to reduce the fear of falling and improve activity levels among older adults. The Granville County Senior center will hold this class each Tuesday, March 12 - April 30 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. 

Make Cooking Easier

Interested in learning new tips, tools and gadgets to help you cook easier, healthier, and more often for your family? Bring your lunch and learn with us during this virtual workshop called “Cooking with Ease: Tips, Tools, and Gadgets”. It is Tuesday, March 12th at 12 pm. Register at go.ncsu.edu/extensionathome

Gather Resources

Have you heard about the upcoming Community Resource Festival at Vance-Granville Community College on Wednesday, March 13 from 10am - 3pm? The Extension office will be there with dozens of other local businesses and nonprofit organizations who will be on hand to assist with a range of services to show what the Granville and Vance (and beyond) communities have to offer.

Go Beyond the Table

March is National Nutrition Month and this year's theme is "Beyond the Table" Join us at the Person County Office on Thursday, March 14th, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. for this workshop to learn how to eat a variety of foods, stick to a food budget, reduce food waste, and so much more. Lunch and handouts will be provided at this workshop. Cost is $5 and must be received by March 8th.

Med-South Program

The NC Cooperative Extension Office is partnering with the Person County Health Department to offer this new program. It is a 4 session series, over the course of 4 months. This program will focus on the Mediterranean Style of eating while acknowledging our Southern cooking styles. Email Jennifer.brown@ncsu.edu or call (336) 599-1195 to inquire about the program and to reserve your spot. We ask that you are able to attend all 4 sessions of the program.

Community Health Day
