IMPORTANT!

4-HOnline is OPEN for 2024 enrollment! If you have not enrolled your child yet, please get this done ASAP. They cannot participate in 2024 until they are enrolled.

*If you enrolled in previous years, most info is saved. Please make sure you look over it and update anything though (especially allergies, medical info, emergency contact info, who can pick them up...etc)

*If your child is in a shooting sports 4-H club, they MUST select one or more of the projects that include shooting sports (rifle, air pistol, etc) in order to fill out an extra consent form.

*If you are wanting your child to participate in 4-H but are not interested in joining a 4-H Club, choose "Rowan County At-Large Member".

*All children must pick a project (choose something they will be focusing on during their 4-H club meetings, activities they like to do, and/or interests they have). Choose any that apply.

If you ever need to update or make changes, login to 4-HOnline and try to. If you cannot, then please to submit any changes to the 4-H Agent at laura_allen@ncsu.edu so we can update it in 4-HOnline.

Port-a-Pit!

Ways you can help:

-Sign up to contact a local business about purchasing Port-a-Pit plates! We deliver to Rowan County businesses that purchase 8+ plates!

-Help your 4-H member sell plates! Advertise via social media (videos, flyers, etc) and by visiting local businesses, family members, friends, schools, etc. to sell plates.

-Adults & responsible, independent teens: Plan to come work at the event! It takes many hands to make this happen! We need kitchen help, people putting plates together, delivery drivers, etc. If you can help, sign up here!

4-H Shout Outs

Thanks to our County Council for all the hard work they did in preparing for and leading our 4-H Achievement Night, held on February 23. We had 122 people in attendance. Congratulations to all of the 4-H'ers who were recognized for their 2023 participation and achievements. Thank you to all of the volunteers for their work in 2023 as well!

Four of our 4-H volunteers attended the NC 4-H Volunteer Leaders' Association Conference on February 2-4, held in Durham. Thanks to Maggie Boreman, Cassie Foster, Cheryl Oster, and Beth Stebe for representing Rowan 4-H and for learning more to help you as a 4-H volunteer!

This year we offered the 20th year of the 4-H Speak Up program, taught by Cheryl Kane. We had 20 youth participate this year, which is the most we have had in a long time! Special thanks to 4-H Volunteers Crystal Croyle, Cassie Foster, and Calli Plott for assisting with this event.
Do you have Medicaid? If so, your policy most likely gives a $10-$75 voucher to be used towards youth activities, and 4-H should qualify! Please check into this for your family!
