Stress Awareness |
April is National Stress Awareness Month and you have two chances to join us for our monthly Lunch N' Learn workshop on "Coping with Stress & Anxiety. Join us at the Person County Office on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. to learn about the difference between stress and anxiety, anxiety disorders, and tips on how to cope. Lunch and handouts will be provided at this workshop. Cost is $5 and must be received by April 5.

Community Reveal Party |
Our Community Reveal Party will provide information about preventing diabetes. It will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 11:00am – 1:00pm at the Person County Office Building Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public but you must RSVP by April 12 by calling 336-599-1195. We will start with free BMI screenings and A1c screenings (for those not already diabetic), offer a simple diabetes risk test and have information tables available for you to visit.

Eat the Med Way |
Join us on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 10:00am at the South Granville Senior Center to learn more about the Mediterranean Way of eating and the simple steps you can take to improve your health. This way of eating has been shown to reduce risk of cardiovascular disease, heart attacks and strokes. Call 919-528-0848 to register for this workshop.

Person Extension Community Association (ECA) Yard Sale Fundraiser |
The Person County Extension Community Association (ECA) hope you can join us Friday, April 26, 2024 from 8:30am - 2pm and Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 8am - 12pm at the Person County Office Building Auditorium for our Extension Community Association (ECA) yard sale. All proceeds will be used by our ECA County Council to help the community.

Granville Extension Volunteer Association (EVA) College Scholarship |
The Granville County Extension Volunteer Association (EVA) will award a $500 college scholarship to one youth and one adult this year. The application packet, found online or at our office, must be submitted to the Extension Center by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

To help people prevent diabetes, we are starting another Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) soon. We are having several Informational Sessions May 7, 16, 20, and 22, 2024 at the Person County Office Building to learn more about the program.
