PRESENTATION AND PUBLIC SPEAKING PROGRAM KICKS OFF AT COUNTY ACTIVITY NIGHT
May 13 | 6:00-8:00 | register
________________________________
At 4-H, we like to support the growth of skills that will contribute to your success today and in the future. One of those skills we have successfully supported is PUBLIC SPEAKING. We do that yearly at our annual Activity Night.
You have time to work on a presentation or speech on a topic you know well and would like to share with others. Then attend Activity Night and give your speech or presentation in front of a small group of cheerleading families and coaches (our judges) who will give you feedback on your work. You can take the feedback, tweak your project, and compete with us at the District Activity Day on June 18th.
For information about the program, including judging rubric forms, check out this NC 4-H Site
Register for 4-H Activity night in 4HO.
TEENS: If you want to attend NC 4-H Congress with our delegation, you MUST give a presentation or speech at County Activity Night. This is for your own good :)

NC YOUTH INSTITUTE Calling all 4-H Teens to Building a More Resilient Global Food System! ________________________________
All high school youth are invited to join us for the 2024 North Carolina Youth Institute, an exceptional opportunity that ignites a passion for solving global hunger through an engaging exploration of agriculture and food systems. The North Carolina Youth Institute is an educational initiative of the World Food Prize Foundation and is designed to spark and support emerging leaders in developing innovative solutions for our world’s most pressing grand challenges surrounding feeding a growing population.
The NCYI is hosted by NC State University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, North Carolina Cooperative Extension’s 4-H Youth Development Program and the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences and is a part of the World Food Prize Foundation’s Global Youth Institute. Youth come to campus in the spring of each year to attend the day-long institute at NC State University's Plant Sciences Building and share their research paper among peers and a panel of judges. Hands-on workshops,
field trips, keynotes and career development will round out the event. There is no registration cost to participate in the Institute. To participate, youth research a global issue and write a three to four page paper under the supervision of a teacher/mentor (using these downloadable guidelines).
For more information on how to participate in the North Carolina Youth Institute, contact the North Carolina State Coordinator Liz
Driscoll at liz_driscoll@ncsu.edu or at (919) 886-3424.
