We only have a few spaces remaining for youth ages 8-12.

Thanks to our generous sponsors, we have a limited number of scholarships to help send Yancey County 4-H youth to camp this year! These scholarships are awarded on a needs-basis. Get Ready for 4-H Presentations!

4-H Presentations are a huge part of North Carolina 4-H. It is one of the most successful ways to help a young person learn public speaking skills. It focuses on 4-H members teaching others what they know about a particular project/subject matter of their choice! 4-Hers who do a presentation develop self-confidence, the ability to speak in front of an audience, and the ability to think ahead.

4-H Firearm Safety Day

Our Yancey County 4-H Longshots Club is excited to offer an opportunity for youth who were not able to join the club this year! Our 4-H Firearm Safety Day is will provide youth with an opportunity to learn about firearm safety and get some hands-on range time! This event is open to ALL youth ages 8-18, the only requirement is that you must be a 4-H member to participate.

Pre-registration is required, deadline to register is Monday, May 20th.

Important Changes to Club Meeting Schedules

Several of our clubs will be having schedule changes during the summer months. See the important information below:

Cooking Club- Last club meeting before summer will be on May 14th. No meetings in June or July. Fall schedule will be communicated in August.

STEM Club - No meetings in May, June or July. Fall schedule will be communicated in August.

Sewing Club- Last club meeting before summer will be on May 14th. No meetings in June or July. Fall schedule will be communicated in August.

Outdoor Adventures Club- No meetings in May, June or July. Fall schedule will be communicated in August.

4-H News: 2024 4-H Fishing Day Fun for the Whole Family!

On Saturday, April 27th families gathered at Toe River Campground for our fourth annual 4-H Fishing Day! Yancey County 4-H Fishing Day is supported by Toe River Campground, North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and Coopers Trading. Congratulations to the following youth who won this past weekend: 0-5 category- Adam Laws (21 in), 6-9 category- Ella Ramsey (12.5 in) and 10-15 category- Carlos Tercero (12 in).
