Eli Setless, a 4-H’er from Cherokee County, attended the annual North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) Youth Voice, which was held in Winston Salem, North Carolina August 9-10. The event is sponsored and supported by the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners.

Murphy on The Move,

Walking Club Continues to Grow!

Over the last three weeks, Murphy on the Move has grown to 22 participants!  Each Wednesday has been an inspiration to many. We will gather at the Extension Meeting Room at Konehete Park every Wednesday (weather permitting) then take a walk together on the Murphy Riverwalk from 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Youth 4-H Sewing Camp Was a Success!!!

Nine local youth participated in the recent 4-H Sew Happy to Learn to Sew Day Camp. The youth were able to get a taste of machine and hand sewing as well as learning about the machines they used, cutting a pattern, and preparing their materials.

Will Ellison was a little nervous on the morning of August 17th as he headed to the WNC Ag Center for his first 4-H poultry show. Will came home with 2, Third Place ribbons for "Best in Breed" and "Sportsmanship"! Way to go, Will!
