Join us on Tuesday, September 24th to meet the new 4-H Agent in Buncombe County, Jordan English! Drop by the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Buncombe County Center between 4:00-6:00 p.m. for some light refreshments and a fun grab-n-go activity for youth. All parents, youth, volunteers and community members are invited! |

Would you like to get involved with 4-H but you aren't sure where to start? Buncombe County 4-H is excited to announce a new opportunity! The Exploring 4-H Club will allow youth to explore all that 4-H has to offer. Open to 4-H members ages 5-18. |

NC State Fair Registration Deadline Approaching! |
The North Carolina State Fair is October 17-27, 2024 in Raleigh! If you are thinking about showing livestock or submitting a general entry, the deadline for registration is September 15th!

4-H News: Ten Buncombe
4-H'ers Compete in State Livestock Judging Competition |
Ten Buncombe County 4-H members competed in Raleigh for the North Carolina State 4-H Livestock Judging Contest from July 31st-August 2nd. We are so proud of these youth for their hard work and accomplishments this year!
Does your child have a passion for animals and is eager to learn more about cattle, goat, sheep and swine? Information about joining the team will be coming out in early January 2025, so be on the lookout for that! |

Volunteers are the key to success in the Buncombe County 4-H program. Whether you’re interested in starting a club and becoming a club leader or just have a few hours to invest, we have challenging and fun jobs for adults who want to make a difference in the lives of Buncombe County youth!
Volunteers guide 4-H members in becoming productive citizens, outstanding communicators, effective leaders, and successful lifelong learners. Buncombe County 4-H needs volunteers who are willing to share creative ideas, time, talent, and skills to support youth in their communities. |

4-H News: Sandy Mush
4-H'ers Advance to State Shooting Sports Competition |
Thirty-five youth from the Sandy Mush 4-H Club competed in the West Region 4-H Shooting Sports Tournament on August 10th. Twenty-one of these youth will be advancing to the State competition on September 14th. We are so proud of these youth for their dedication and hard work and wish them the best of luck at the State competition! |
