Welcome to McKenna Gardner our new 4-H Program Assistant
My name is McKenna Gardner and I am thrilled to begin working as the 4-H Program Assistant for Randolph County. I grew up here and am grateful to have the opportunity to give back to this community. I graduated from North Carolina State University in 2020 with a Bachelors of Science in Science Education with a Concentration in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology. I worked throughout college for 2 years with the Randolph County Cooperative Extension being one of the Summer Program Assistants leading primarily the 5-7 year old age group. Upon graduation, I began teaching 6th grade science at Southeastern Randolph Middle School and was awarded the Randolph County Middle School Beginning Teacher of Excellence Award. My husband and I currently farm cattle and operate Gardner Farm which sells retail and wholesale beef. I am excited to bring my experiences to this position and cannot wait to meet all of our 4-Hers, volunteers, and leaders of this beloved community. I look forward to working and learning from you all!
