Mark your calendars for an unforgettable evening on December the 6th as the 31st Annual Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting celebration returns! Join us for a festive night filled with family fun, lights, and music as we celebrate the holiday season. Parade viewing will be available throughout the Currituck Community Park in Barco, but the Tree Lighting and Cookies and Cocoa will take place at the Currituck Extension Center at 120 Community Way. 


Official Festivities Begin at 6:00 PM
The evening officially kicks off with the always popular Reindeer Games at 6:00 PM. Families and kids can enjoy holiday-themed activities, visit the food trucks, and warm up with cookies and cocoa to get in the spirit of the season. (If you wish to visit with Santa, we hear he will be visiting the YMCA starting at 5pm!) The tree lighting will take place at 6:50pm and the parade kicks off at 7pm. 


This event is free and open to the public but please register at ctuckparade24.eventbrite.com so that we can be prepared for your visit! If you are interested in participating in the parade, you MUST complete the entry form at go.ncsu.edu/ctuckparadeentry

Northeast NC Niche Ag Conference

The 2024 Northeast NC Niche Ag Conference will be held on November 22, 2024.  This year's theme is "Adding Value to Your Ag."  Topics of the day will cover ways to enhance your farm through value added products, simplified farm record keeping for your tax professional, and much more.  There is no cost to attend but registration is required.

Cooking Up Health this Winter

NC Cooperative Extension in Currituck is excited to announce a special three-part workshop series designed to help you make nutritious choices during the colder months. The Cooking Up Health series will include interactive classes focused on Healthy Holiday Eating, Budget-Friendly Meal Planning, and Winter Nutrition for Immune Support. Each 90-minute session will feature live cooking demonstrations, practical nutrition tips, and take-home recipes.
