Donated Food Items Needed!!
|
Due to the limited capacity of MANNA's Snack Bag program at this time, we are partnering with Cherokee Clay Food Alliance and the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce to continue to serve 128 food-insecure students with a backpack bag of food for each weekend. This support will continue through the school year at Murphy Middle School, Murphy High School, Peachtree Elementary School, The Oaks Academy, Tri-County Early College, and Ranger Elementary School. Please help us serve this need by donating from the list above. You may drop items at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Office located at 40 Peachtree Street (second floor of the Courthouse Annex Building). If you have question, please contact Marlana Baker at the NC Cooperative Extension office 828-837-2210. |

The spring 2025 Pesticide Safety Schools are now available to those seeking initial licensing in one or more pesticide subcategories. Our spring 2025 Pesticide Safety Schools are in-person. The Community Help Desk is a series of drop in events scheduled at different dates, times and locations throughout Cherokee County. One-on-one appointments for detailed evaluation of technology issues (computers, phones, and tablets) can be scheduled at the events. |

Spread the Warmth for the Holidays, ECA Giving Trees!

The Extension Community Association (ECA) Sit & Knit Club has launched a heartwarming initiative to help Cherokee County residents stay warm this winter. Through their dedication to craft and community service, members of the Sit & Knit Club have hand-knit or crocheted cozy hats, scarves, blankets, and gloves to be placed on two Christmas trees, known as “Giving Trees.” |

Cherokee County currently has five active 4-H Clubs. All of our clubs are open to youth ages 5-18 except for our Cherokee On The Fly 4-H Club and 4-H Cooking, Crafting, & Community Club. Cherokee On The Fly 4-H Club is open to grades 6-12. 4-H Cooking, Crafting, & Community Club is open to all youth ages 12-18. |
