Project Record Books

Project books due:  February 18, 2025

What is a 4-H Project Record Book?

A 4-H project record book is a compilation of all of a 4-Her's work in a given year regarding a specific topic.

Who does a 4-H Project Record Book?

All 4-Her's are welcome and encouraged to do this!!! The age divisions for competition are: 5-7, 8-10,11-12,13-15, and 16-18.

Project books are required to go to some events like the annual Electric Congress.

Alexander County 4-H will be taking a group to the Eastern 4-H Center for a weeklong camp this summer.  June 15-20, 2025 will be the dates for this camp.  If you are interested and need more information please contact DJ Salyer at

Alexander County 4-H Clubs
Alexander County Livestock 4-H Club  meets 1st Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Location:  Alexander County Service Center.



The Alexander County 4-H Livestock Club met in February and learned some country line dancing. It was a fun time together and many laughs were made. The next Alexander County 4-H Livestock Club the first Monday night in March at 7 p.m. at the Alexander County Service Center.
 
Alexander County 4-H Garden Club meets 2nd Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m.  Location:  Alexander County Service Center
The Alexander 4-H Garden Club will not meet again until the month of April, more details about the event will be in the next newsletter.  If you have any questions about the Alexander 4-H Garden Club, please give Cari Rosenbalm a call (828-632-4451).
 
Southern Grace 4-H Club  meets 3rd Thursday of each month at 5:00 p.m.  Location:  Alexander County Service Center (They are not accepting new members at this time.)



In January Southern Grace 4-H Club made semi-homemade strawberry pop-tarts, or hand pies, with frosting. Members enjoyed this warm treat, and everyone was encouraged to do it again at home for a Valentines treat for their families!
 
Shockers 4-H Electric Club meets 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Location:  Alexander County Service Center   New members are welcome!
The Shockers 4-H Electric Club met in January to make circuits with batteries and silverware. They discussed what makes a circuit and how they can problem-solve to make the LED light turn on. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.  New members are welcome to attend!
 
Whisk it Up 4-H Cooking Club meets 4th Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m. Location:  Alexander County Service Center.
 
WHEP (Wildlife Habitat Education Program) will be meet February 26th at 3:45 p.m. at the Alexander County Service Center.





T
he WHEP Team met with local wildlife biologists on January 31, 2025 and spent the day in Pisgah National Forest and Johns River Game Land.  They were able to see several projects going on and many BMP's in action. The date for the state contest has been released.  It will be held  at Jones Lake State Park in

Elizabethtown, NC on Saturday May 10, 2025.
 

ALL 4-H members and volunteers MUST be enrolled in 4-H Online to participate in any programs or clubs that are provided by Alexander County 4-H.

If you have any questions regarding enrollment or need help with enrollment please contact DJ Salyer at 828-632-3125.  Again, no child or volunteer can participate in 4-H events without being enrolled.
