Extension News Currituck County

April 2025

From the Director

Currituck County Cooperative Extension has unveiled its 2024 impact report, proving that when it comes to serving the community, the future is now. Like Doc Brown’s DeLorean, the Extension Service has been speeding ahead at 88 mph, delivering innovation, education, and economic success at every turn.

With a mission to empower local citizens through research-based programs and services, Currituck Extension set the clock forward with 571 educational activities, engaging 7,306 participants. Meanwhile, in a true demonstration of hands-on service, 1,248 instances of face-to-face technical assistance provided a boost to 2,116 community membersβ€”no flux capacitor needed!

Digital outreach played a pivotal role, generating 91,799 online engagements and reaching an impressive 150,669 individuals. Whether through social media, educational videos, or newsletters, Currituck Extension proved that knowledge isn't just powerβ€”it's the fuel for the future.
