Sign Up Now for the 2025 Market Lamb Project

Are you interested in raising and showing a project lamb this summer?  Here is a great opportunity to learn all about lambs, how to show them, how to raise and care for them. 

  • If you do not know where to start - that is OK.  We have the knowledge and equipment to help you be successful
  • This group meets every other Thursday during the summer to learn about showing and lamb health

Lamb Project Orientation will be on Monday May 5th at 6:30pm

5 Minutes Could = $50

4-H Presentations have cash prizes at the district and state level. Did you know that some of our district presentation categories have money attached to them? Now is the time to think about your topic for the 2025 presentation competition.  Do you have a subject that you really love?  Do you know something you would like to teach someone else?  Here is some info you will want to know. The deadline for your presentation title and subject area is May 15th.

  • 4-H Presentations are for all ages.  Age divisions: 5-7, 8-10, 11-13, 14-18
  • Ages 8 and up can win ribbons, medals and money depending on the category
  • Save the date: District Activity Day (competition day) is Friday June 16th
  • Please let Tammara know if you would like help with your presentation

Club Corner
Macon Mountain Goats 4-H Club

Springtime is kidding time for the MMG club.  We will meet at Ms. Cindy's barn on Tuesday April 8th at 6:30pm. Please wear sturdy shoes and barn clothes.
Macon Archers

We are back outside for April through this fall.  First year archers will meet at 5:00pm on Thursdays and advanced archers will meet at 6:00pm.  Our dates for April will be the 10th, 17th and 24th.
Macon Sharp Shooters

We are back at the Sheriffs range for the summer and fall.  Our meeting time this month will be April 12 and April 26 at 10am.The address is Radio Hill Road Franklin, NC 28734.  Look for the 4-H Clover signs. 
Budding Chefs and Top Chefs

In April, we will be exploring fun meals and snacks that focus on herbs.  After we make and try our recipe, we will plant our own take home herb garden.

Top Chefs (ages 9-18) and Budding Chefs (ages 5-8) will meet together on Tuesday April 8th at 3:45.
Sassy Stitchers

Always busy and always creative -  Beginners class will meet on Thursday April 3rd and 10th.  The advanced class will meet on Thursday April 17th and 24th at 3:45.  The advanced group is currently making their own bags complete with straps and zippers.  

Fluffy Feathers 4-H Club

We will meet on Thursday April 24th at 6:00pm at the Extension Office meeting room.  We are a new club, so come learn with us.  We are focusing on birds, embryology, eggs and how the poultry industry affects us.   So many fun things to learn.

Livestock Judging Team

The Livestock Judging Team is learning the anatomy and physiology of not one, not two but four species of livestock.  This team will meet on Mondays through this spring.  Study hard team, we can't wait to see you shine.  In April, the team will meet every Monday at 5:30 for species study and field trips.
Macon 4-H Beekeepers

Check out our beehive supers that we built and painted in March.  We are heading out into the bee-yard in April.  This month we will meet on Wednesday April 9th and April 23th at 5:30pm in the apiary unless we have bad weather.
