Fall Prevention Series |
Many older adults have a fear of falling. Therefore, the Person County Senior Center and Extension Office are joining forces in May and June to offer the “Matter of Balance” 8-week series. The program will be held Monday May 5 – June 30 (skipping Memorial Day) from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Space is limited to 15 participants. Prevent Diabetes |
Our next Person County Diabetes Prevention Program is set to start in July. Starting Thursday, May 8 at 10:00 a.m., we will be hosting Information Sessions to provide more information on this program and to see if you qualify. You only need to attend 1 session (and it does not commit you to anything). Mental Health Can't Wait |

We need to learn how to build boundaries, nurture our spirit and relationships, deal with burnout, and improve our overall wellbeing using the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. On Thursday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the South Granville Public Library in Creedmoor, we will host a workshop on how to “Eat Right When Money’s Tight”. We will discuss meal planning, shopping tips, supermarket savings, and other strategies to help reduce your food costs all while purchasing healthy foods.

Test Your Dial Gauge Pressure Canner Lids |
Did you know that your canner gauge should be tested every year? The Person & Granville County Cooperative Extension can help you get off to a safe canning start this season. Free canner gauge testing is available at the Extension office. Throughout the month of May, drop off your dial gauge lid, labeled with your name and phone number and we will contact you once it has been tested. |

Burnout happens when ongoing stress leaves you exhausted—emotionally, physically, and mentally. It can happen when you're trying to handle too many things like work, school, parenting, caregiving, or other duties. Use this Wellness Calendar with daily tips from the Mental Health America organization. Add your own monthly goals to the list and "Turn Awareness into Action" this month during Mental Health Awareness month.
