Congratulations to Our New

Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Class!

NC Cooperative Extension, Stokes County Center is proud to announce that ten new Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteers have successfully completed their training and are already actively supporting program outreach efforts. From January through May 2025, the volunteers completed 40 hours of horticulture-related training, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to assist in community education and gardening initiatives across the county.

According to the Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteers Program (emgv.ces.ncsu.edu), “Since 1979, the NC State Extension Master Gardener℠ program has recruited, trained, and engaged people to serve as volunteer educators who strengthen Extension’s delivery of science-based horticultural knowledge to North Carolinians. We connect people with the benefits of consumer horticulture through research-based information, educational programming, and community outreach that empowers North Carolinians to cultivate healthy plants, landscapes, ecosystems, and communities.”

We celebrate their dedication and welcome them to the Extension Master Gardener℠ community!

If you are interested in becoming an Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteer or have questions about the program, contact Matt Lenhardt at (336) 593-8179 or matt_lenhardt@ncsu.edu.
