NC State Intern Joins Buncombe County Extension Staff This Summer

Caroline Kiser, a rising senior at NC State University has joined the Buncombe County Extension Staff as part of the 2025 summer internship program. Caroline is enrolled in the College of Ag and Life Sciences, majoring in Agricultural Business Management and will be working at the Buncombe County Extension Office from May – July. 

New 4-H Community Club

We are excited to announce a new 4-H Community Club starting up in Buncombe County! The Ridgecrest 4-H Club will have an interest meeting on June 3rd at 6:00 p.m. for families to learn more about the new Club, meet the club leaders and learn more about getting involved in 4-H! This club is FREE to join and is open to youth ages 5-18 in Buncombe County!

Junior Master Gardener 4-H Camp

Summer is just a few short weeks away and Buncombe County 4-H is offering days camps where youth can continue learning while getting their hands dirty! Our Junior Master Gardener camp will allow youth to work with our Extension Master Gardeners to learn about soils, plants, pollinators and more! Click the link below to register!

Cloverbuds in the Kitchen Camp

Does your child love to help in the kitchen? Our Cloverbuds in the Kitchen Camp is for youth ages 5-8 and will allow youth to learn essential kitchen skills, safety and more! Space is limited, so register soon!

New Horse Club!

Does your child have an interest in horses? We are excited to announce another new 4-H Club starting up in Buncombe County!Whether you’re just starting out with horses or have years of experience, this new 4-H Club offers a welcoming space to learn, and connect with fellow horse enthusiasts! This club is open to youth ages 5-18.

West District 4-H Horsemanship Clinic

The 2025 West District 4-H Horsemanship Clinic is now open for registration! Don’t miss out on this awesome event with opportunities for mounted and unmounted activities!

2025 Summer Fun Program

Buncombe County 4-H is excited to offer a wide variety of summer learning opportunities for youth in 2025! We have 10 different day camps and other opportunities for youth ages 5-18 during the months of June - August. Space is limited for each camp, so register today to reserve your spot!

Buncombe County 4-H Needs You!

Buncombe County 4-H is currently seeking passionate adult volunteers to assist in implementing the following 4-H programs: STEM & Electricity, Cooking and Sewing classes. The time commitment is flexible with your schedule and you will be making a lasting positive impact on kids in your community!

Volunteers are the key to success in the Buncombe County 4-H program. Whether you’re interested in starting a club and becoming a club leader or just have a few hours to invest, we have challenging and fun jobs for adults who want to make a difference in the lives of Buncombe County youth!
