Disaster Preparedness Workshop for Livestock - August 11

An Animal Emergency Preparedness and Response Training will be held on Monday, August 11th at the East Carolina Agriculture and Education Center in Rocky Mount from 9 am - 1 pm. Continuing education credits available for first responders and animal waste operators.

Registration is free but required for lunch

Winter Annual Forages for Livestock and Equine - August 26

Do you want to lower your feed bill and provide nutritious pasture for your animals during the Winter and Spring? Come learn about the different types of cool season annual forages you can plant on August 26th at the Nash County Ag Center. Presenters: Heather Glennon - N.C. Twin Counties Cattlemen's Association Meeting - August 18

We had 50 people in attendance at our 1st Cattlemen's Association Meeting! Our next meeting is scheduled for August 18th where we will elect officers and have a guest speaker. Membership is open to anyone with a passion for cattle regardless of residence. Family membership dues are only $25 for the year. Please RSVP online or call 252-459-9810 so we can order enough food!

29th Annual Franklin County Regional Horse Farm Tour - August 1

The horse farm driving tour will take place Friday, August 1st, beginning at 7:30 a.m., and should conclude around 2:30 p.m. This event has a $27 cost per person which includes lunch. Topics include:

Equine Dentistry
Farm Stays – Marketing, Regulations, Insurance, Profitability
Development of the racing colts, Genetics
Breeders Incentive Funds

Eastern Carolina 4-H Livestock Show and Sale Alumni Roundup Dinner - September 27

Join other 4-H Livestock Alumni for a delicious dinner on September 27th. Tickets are $20 and can purchased at the Nash County Extension Office. Help plan the Eastern Carolina Livestock Show and Sale's 90th Celebration!
