Disaster Preparedness Workshop for Livestock - August 11 |
An Animal Emergency Preparedness and Response Training will be held on Monday, August 11th at the East Carolina Agriculture and Education Center in Rocky Mount from 9 am - 1 pm. Continuing education credits available for first responders and animal waste operators.
Registration is free but required for lunch

Do you want to lower your feed bill and provide nutritious pasture for your animals during the Winter and Spring? Twin Counties Cattlemen's Association Meeting - August 18 |
We had 50 people in attendance at our 1st Cattlemen's Association Meeting! Our next meeting is scheduled for August 18th where we will elect officers and have a guest speaker. Membership is open to anyone with a passion for cattle regardless of residence. Family membership dues are only $25 for the year. 29th Annual Franklin County Regional Horse Farm Tour - August 1 |
The horse farm driving tour will take place Friday, August 1st, beginning at 7:30 a.m., and should conclude around 2:30 p.m. This event has a $27 cost per person which includes lunch. Topics include:
- Equine Dentistry
- Farm Stays – Marketing, Regulations, Insurance, Profitability
- Development of the racing colts, Genetics
- Breeders Incentive Funds
