Dr. Kim Ingold NC 4-H Photography Contest


Have you taken some great photos this year? Show off your photography skills in the 2025 Dr. Kim Ingold 4-H Photography Contest!


Open to youth ages 5+, must be a 4-H member to participate!


All entries are due by September 15, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. EST and must be submitted digitally. Contact Jordan to register at jordan_english@ncsu.edu!

4-H Homeschool Embryology Program


We are excited to announce a new 4-H hands-on, educational program for homeschool families in Buncombe County! In this three week, hands-on, educational program where youth will learn about poultry life cycles – from egg to chick!

In this program, youth will incubate chicken eggs and learn about the 21 day life cycle. Throughout this program, youth will learn about chick development, parts of an egg, careers in the poultry industry, chicken breeds and more. This program is FREE and open youth ages 5-18.

4-H News: Sandy Mush 4-H Club Competes at West Region 4-H Shooting Sports Tournament


We would like to congratulate our Sandy Mush 4-H Club who participated in the 2025 West Region 4-H Shooting Sports competition, August 9th in Columbus, NC. Congratulations to the 33 youth who competed and 24 of these 4-H'ers will be advancing to the State competition in October!

Buncombe County 4-H Needs You!


Buncombe County 4-H is currently seeking passionate adult volunteers to assist in implementing the following 4-H programs: STEM & Electricity, Cooking and Sewing classes. The time commitment is flexible with your schedule and you will be making a lasting positive impact on kids in your community!


Volunteers are the key to success in the Buncombe County 4-H program. Whether you’re interested in starting a club and becoming a club leader or just have a few hours to invest, we have challenging and fun jobs for adults who want to make a difference in the lives of Buncombe County youth!
