Nash County Farm-City Breakfast - November 18

We hope you can join us on November 18th at 8:00 am for our Farm-City Breakfast at the Ag Center. In addition to the delicious food and lively fellowship, attendees will hear from four agricultural producers and industry representatives during our panel Q&A. 


We are still accepting nominations for the following awards: Farmer of the Year, Ag Business of the Year, Young Farmer of the Year and Woman in Ag. Deadline is October 24th.

Eastern Carolina 4-H Livestock Show and Sale Workshop - November 3 

Do you know kids who are interested in showing livestock? An Orientation Meeting will be held on Monday, November 3rd at 5 pm for any youth interested in showing a goat, lamb, pig or steer at the 2026 Eastern Carolina 4-H Livestock Show and Sale. 


This will be followed by an Animal Nutrition educational workshop titled "Chowdown for Champions" at 6 pm.

Financial Strategies for Livestock Operations - December 13

WHAT: Join us to learn how to fine-tune your livestock operation to maximize profits

Twin Counties Cattlemen's Association Meetings

Our new Cattlemen's Association is growing stronger every month. 


In August we elected officers:

President - Cole Strickland

Vice President - Timmy Mills

Secretary - Kaitlin Strickland

Treasurer - Shannon Brown

Board Members: Scott Deans, AJ Strickland and Ashley Askew


In September, we visited Old Rudera Farm and watched ear tagging, tattooing and DNA sampling. We also learned about the uniques characteristics of the Piedmontese breed. 


On October 27th at 6:30 pm, Premier Select Sires is holding a beef meeting at the Nash County Ag Center. Come learn about genetics, bull selection and cow/calf products. Please RSVP to Steve Owens at 252-532-3279 for the meal. 


Our next Twin County Cattlemen's meeting is scheduled for November 10th at the Ag Center where we will discuss animal health. 

Mobile Poultry Processing Equipment Demonstration - November 3

Would you like to raise your own chickens and turkeys and process them for sale or personal consumption? Do you need the processing equipment but can't afford to buy it?


Then join us on November 3rd in Hertford to learn about humane and efficient processing as well as safe food handling.

Women in Agriculture   Dinner and Farm Tours - November 7 & 8

Did you know women account for a third of all agricultural producers in the country? Ladies, join us on Friday, November 7th at the beautiful Wollett Mill Pond & Venue. Arrive at 5:00 pm for networking, socializing and crafting a Holiday centerpiece. The meal begins at 6:30 pm. Food will be provided by the Redneck BBQ Lab's Taco Truck featuring three tacos and loaded nachos for all attendees. We will feature our keynote speaker, County Extension Director, Dr. Heather Glennon at 7pm.


Farm tours will begin on Saturday, November 8th at 8:00 am. You can drive yourself or carpool with your friends as we visit several agricultural operations.
