Calling all 4-H volunteers! Don't miss the opportunity to attend the 2024 West District Fall Volunteer Conference on Saturday, November 8th in Mills River. This conference is for volunteers, new or seasoned, 4-H parents, teachers, 4-H alumni, and anyone who loves 4-H! At this event, you can learn more about 4-H and some of the programs offered, and gain tips and tricks to take back to your county! Attendance is free for Buncombe County 4-H volunteers. Sandy Mush 4-H Club Veterans Day Celebrations |
|
Our Sandy Mush 4-H Club will be hosting two events on Tuesday, November 11th to recognize the Veterans who have served our Country.
11am-12:30pm Lunch - Free Chick Fil A Sandwich and drink at drive through event @ Leicester Community Center
4pm-6pm - Dinner - Free meal @ Salty Goat Grill in Leicester
All veterans, spouses and immediate families are invited to attend these events! |

Fall National 4-H AI Challenge |
|
The 4-H AI in Agriculture Challenge invites youth to explore how artificial intelligence can solve real-world agricultural problems. Participants will identify a challenge within the agriculture industry and design an innovative AI-based solution. Students will showcase how technology can enhance the future of farming. This challenge empowers youth to think critically, apply STEM concepts, and imagine a better agricultural future powered by AI. This virtual challenge is open to youth ages 13-18, is FREE to enter, and winners have the opportunity to win prizes and National recognition!

4-H News: Sandy Mush 4-H Club Competes at the State Shooting Sports Tournament! |
|
The North Carolina 4-H State Shooting Sports Tournament took place on Saturday, October 4th in Ellerbe, NC. Over 600 4-H’ers from across North Carolina came together to compete. Twenty nine youth from our Sandy Mush 4-H Club in Buncombe County competed at the tournament. Congratulations to each of these youth for their hard work this season! Buncombe County 4-H is currently seeking passionate adult volunteers to assist in implementing the following 4-H programs: STEM & Electricity, Cooking and Sewing classes. The time commitment is flexible with your schedule and you will be making a lasting positive impact on kids in your community!
Volunteers are the key to success in the Buncombe County 4-H program. Whether you’re interested in starting a club and becoming a club leader or just have a few hours to invest, we have challenging and fun jobs for adults who want to make a difference in the lives of Buncombe County youth!
