Cherokee on the Fly 4-H Club is Restarting


Cherokee on the Fly 4-H Club is starting back with some additional focus areas to go along with fly tying and fly fishing. The club is still open to all youth in grades 6-12.

We will still be learning about fly tying and fishing, but we will be more of an outdoor skills and adventure club. We will combine traditional skills like fly fishing, sport fishing, hunting, and trapping to develop curious, skilled youth who foster conservation of natural resources and safety.

2026 West District 4-H Horse Clinic


Riders are welcome from all across Western North Carolina and other areas of the state to participate in this fun, 4-H Learn by Doing activity. Each morning starts with a safety meeting to ensure that safety concerns and procedures are followed throughout the clinic. On Monday and Tuesday, participants will saddle up and ride in their chosen discipline. Classes include Cloverbud, Novice/Beginner, Ranch/Western, English/Hunt Seat, Speed Events, and Non-trotting/Gaited horse classes. On Wednesday, we have a full day of cattle sorting and other mounted activities.

The Extension Master Gardeners in Cherokee County have released the schedule for Speaker’s Bureau classes for 2026. Click and register for each class below to register. Registration closes 5 days before the date of the class.

Beginner Sewing Class Series


This is a great opportunity for adults (18 and older)who would like to learn to sew. You will learn the basics including care and maintenance of your sewing machine and how to operate it, how to read a pattern, and how to create some great beginner sewing projects.

Pesticide Classes Scheduled


If you have a private license and need recertification it is required that you attend one V and X class every three years. If you have a commercial license with A,B,G,H,I,K,K(PU),K(SA),L,M,N,O,T,D designation you can attend the X training and receive 2 hours credit for each class.

Since its inception in 2000, the IC3 has evolved from a small intake office into a sophisticated center that serves as an important link for the public to reach federal law enforcement.

Enroll or Re-Enroll in 4-H for 2026


North Carolina 4-H utilizes an enrollment system for all new and existing 4-H members and volunteers. The online enrollment system is called 4-HOnline. If you created a new family profile in the 4-HOnline system during the 2025 program year – or – if you re-enrolled from a previous year – you have to update that record for the new 2026 - 2027 programmatic year.
