Find Your Voice with 4-H
(Presentation Title and Subject due to Tammara by May 22nd)

Now is the time to think about your topic for the 2026 presentation competition.  Do you have a subject that you really love?  Do you know something you would like to teach someone else?  Here is some info you will want to know about categories, prize money, etc.: 4-H Presentations Link

  • 4-H Presentations are for all ages.  Age divisions: 5-7, 8-10, 11-13, 14-18
  • Ages 8 and up can win ribbons, medals and money depending on the category
  • Save the date: District Activity Day (competition day) is June 16th
  • Please let Tammara know if you would like help with your presentation

Market Lamb Club

We will have lamb drawing and pickup on Thursday May 21st.  We will meet at the fairgrounds and will text you the time.  Get ready - here they come...

Club Corner
Macon Mountain Goats 4-H Club

The Macon Mountain will meet at Deitz Dream Farm on Tuesday May 12th at 6:30pm.  You will be taking DNA samples and working with the California banding system for young kid goats.  

Macon Archers

We will meet at the 4-H Archery Range on Thursday May 14th 21st and 28th. We will meet as close to 5:00pm as you can arrive.  If work schedules make you a little late - that is just fine.
Macon Sharp Shooters

In April, we moved back outdoors to the Sheriff's Department shooting range at the top of Radio Hill Road.  We will shoot there again in May on May 9th and 16th at 10:00am. Thank you to Coach Jon Shepherd for getting certified in Pistol to open up new opportunities for our shooters.  Remember to bring a chair and a hat or umbrella
Hoofprints 4-H Club

This group had members go to multiple shows this month including the West District 4-H Horse Show and the Macon County Fun Show.  Upcoming Dates include:
May 17th - Drill Team Practice 5:30
June 13th - 2nd Roping Clinic
July 11th - Saturday Night Lights at Tryon

Livestock Judging Team

Our Livestock Judging Team is continuing to meet and learning about cattle, goats, sheep and pigs.  With all this knowledge, they will have lots of fields to pick from...

The Judging Team meets on Mondays at 5:00pm

Budding Chefs and Top Chefs

Top Chef will meet on Tuesday May 12th at 3:45. We have been touring different countries for the past few months.  In March we made soda bread from Ireland, in April we made Arroz con Leche from Mexico and this month we will make gnocchi from scratch with sauce. 
Sassy Stitchers

Beginners will meet on Thursday May 7th and 14th.  Advanced sewers meet on May 21st and 28th at 3:45.  Check out some of our projects from this spring


Macon 4-H Beekeepers

April and May are full speed ahead for the bee world.  This month our hives have been working to collect our spring nectar for Spring Wildflower Honey.  This month we will meet on Wednesday May 13th and May 27th at 5:30pm.  Our member families took home 5 hives this month to start their own apiaries.
