Club Corner
Macon Mountain Goats 4-H Club

The MMG will meet on Tuesday June 9th and June 23rd at Deitz Dream Farm. The fair seems far away but will be here soon. Work with Ms. Cindy to figure out which goat you can show.  Macon County Fair registration will be due August 1st.
Macon Archers
We will shoot on Thursdays from 5:00 - 6:30. Arrive as close to 5:00 as your schedule allows and down forget to bring water and a chair.  Our afternoons will begin to warm up in June.

Macon Sharp Shooters

We will shoot two times this month.  Our meeting dates will be on Saturday June 13th and 20th at the Sheriffs range to shoot rifle.  We will meet at 10am.  Parents: remember to bring water, chairs and shade.

Budding Chefs and Top Chefs

Last month we took a culinary visit to Italy and made hand rolled gnocchi and pasta sauce.  This month we will meet on an odd day.  We will meet on Tuesday June 30th at 3:45.  We will make and roll our own sushi.  Nope - no raw fish.  Ewwww!
Sassy Stitchers

Sassy Stitchers will be off for the summer -
we are now taking names for those that are interested in joining the beginners class in August.  The beginners group will run from August 2026 through May of 2027 and meet the first two Thursdays of each month from 3:45 - 6:00. 

In June, our current sewers will have a service project on Wednesday June 10th from 10am - 12:30pm.  We will make fun pillowcases for kids that need a smile.  If you have not signed up, please email Tammara to get on the list.
Macon 4-H Beekeepers

In May,  our beekeepers checked their hives and learned how to light our smoker tool.  We also put bee escapes on our hives in order to pulled our first few supers of honey off the
4-H hives.  This month we will meet on Wednesday June 10th and Wednesday June 24th. 

4-H Market Lamb Club

Lamb families - are you ready?   Our first clinic will be on Thursday June 4th and then again on June18th.  We will meet at 6:00pm both nights.  On June 18th, Jackson County Farm Bureau Women will provide supper for our families.  6:00pm dinner and then practice afterwards.

Hoofprints
Here is a busy group - grab your calendars.
  • Sunday afternoons at 7:00 - drill team practice (fairgrounds)
  • June 3rd - 5:30 - indoor meeting a the EO to discuss rodeo event and will have a game of horse jeopardy afterwards
  • June 6th - fundraiser at Master Gardener plant sale 7:30 - 10:30
  • June 13th - 2nd part of the Roping Clinic at the Trent Rhea farm.  A group will be trailering to this event - contact Ms. Kara for more information
  • June 14-17 - West District 4-H Horse Clinic - registration due by Friday June 5th
  • June 26-27 JR Pro Rodeo
  • July 11th - Saturday night lights at Tryon

4-H Livestock Judging

The livestock judging team will be meeting for 1/2 day farm visits every Monday in June from 1:00 - 5:00pm.  Please call Joe for any questions.
