As summer break approaches, 4-H members have exciting opportunities to keep learning, creating, and growing. From exploring agriculture and cooking, to community service projects and new skill-building activities, summer is the perfect time to discover new interests and continue your learning journey. Day camps are open to youth ages 5-18 and limited spaces are still available in all camps!


Exploring STEM Day Camp


Wednesday, June 24th

Youth can become a scientist for the day as they learn about coding, robotics and more!

Follow the path of our food, from farm to fork, learning about agriculture and cooking along the way!

Cloverbud Day Camp


Tuesday, July 7th - Thursday, July 9th

9:00am-12:00pm

This camp is for 4-H members ages 5-8 to learn about all the fun that 4-H has to offer! Youth will learn about a variety of topics, including STEM, cooking, arts & crafts & more!

Fair Crafting Workshops

Two age specific workshops:

Ages 5-8: 9:00am-12:00pm

Ages 9-18: 1:00pm-4:00pm

Intern Joins Buncombe County Extension Staff this Summer


Anna Sink has joined the Buncombe County Extension Staff as part of the 2026 North Carolina State University Summer Internship Program. Anna will be working at the Buncombe County Extension Office from May - July. Anna is a senior at Murray State University in Kentucky, majoring in Agriscience Technology with an emphasis in Extension and Leadership.

Anna grew up on a small family farm in Cadiz, Kentucky, but has roots to Western North Carolina through family in Jackson County.

Buncombe County 4-H Needs You!


Buncombe County 4-H is currently seeking passionate adult volunteers to assist in implementing the following 4-H programs: STEM & Electricity, Cooking and Sewing classes. The time commitment is flexible with your schedule and you will be making a lasting positive impact on kids in your community!


Volunteers are the key to success in the Buncombe County 4-H program. Whether you’re interested in starting a club and becoming a club leader or just have a few hours to invest, we have challenging and fun jobs for adults who want to make a difference in the lives of Buncombe County youth!
