The NC AgVentures Farm Grant Program is an NC State Extension grant program that provides grants to existing NC family farms and local nonprofit community organizations to develop agricultural projects that increase farm profits. Funding is provided by the NC Tobacco Trust Fund Commission. NC AgVentures Farm Grant is a competitive grant. |

North Carolina residents can still get their soil tested for free outside of the peak season, which spans from late November or early December through March. However, starting in fall 2026, the fee during peak months will rise from $4 to $5 per sample. |

Jim Kahler Excellence in STEM Programming Award |
|
Youth development professionals from 9 counties and A&T University in the North Central District teamed up to provide a three-day STEM Camp over the summer. Topics included Rube Goldberg’s Challenge, Lego Robotics, Sphero, Blueprints, drones, and AI. Evaluations indicated knowledge gain, behavior change, and an increase in career-ready skills.
