Congratulations!!

Alexander County 4-H held it's annual 4-H Pumpkin Decorating Contest and wow we seen some pretty amazing pumpkins.  Below are the results and a few pictures:
7 and under

Steer Calf Project

Catawba County 4-H is offering a Steer Calf Project and allowing youth to participate from surrounding counties.  There will be a information session held on December 8, 2021.  For more information please contact DJ Salyer at 828-632-3125 or dj_salyer@ncsu.edu.

The next WHEP meeting will be Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.  
2022 NC 4-H Summer Camp Dates

Would your child like to attend 4-H Camp at the Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia, NC next summer??  Alexander 4-H will be taking a group June 19-24, 2022.  4-H Camp is open to youth ages 8-14 years old and offers a variety of camp programs based upon age.  If you would like more information please contact the N.C. 4-H in the News


4-H Garden Club
met on Thursday, October 14 for the first time. Cari Mitchell, Horticulture Agent, presented a program on the different types of tubers.  The next meeting will be held, Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. at the Alexander County Service Center.  This meeting's topic will be pine trees and pine cones.  
Shockers 4-H Club met on Tuesday, October 19th and they learned how batteries store energy.  They also used batteries to light up a light bulb by connecting the positive and negative ends of the battery to the light bulb with a conductor.  They welcomed two new members this month and would like to invite anyone interested in electricity to join them for their next meeting that will be on Tuesday, November 16th at 6:30.



Southern Grace 4-H Club
met on Thursday, October 20th and their topic was Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice.  They made tasty pumpkin mug cakes, pumpkin lattes without coffee and topped both with homemade whipped cream.  Their next meeting will be held on Thursday, November 18th at 5:00 p.m.

Whisk It Up 4-H Club
had to cancel their October meeting.  They will meet Thursday, November 18th at 4:00p.m. at the Alexander County Service Center.
Alexander County offices will be closed on the following dates:

Thursday, November 11 for Veteran's Day
Thursday, November 25 and Friday, November 26 for Thanksgiving
