Currituck Farm Festival Flier
While 2021 was another year of challenges, NC Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center rose to the occasion and delivered strong results for the citizens of Currituck County and beyond. Below is just a brief overview of some of the highlights of the outstanding work of this team.

In 2021, Currituck Extension staff made nearly 13,000 direct (face to face) contacts with citizens and over 1.5 million digital media and mass media contacts. Staff provided 993 hours of educational content through 340 different activities which reached an audience of over 8200. Program volunteers extended that reach by over 4600 contacts during the 5300 hours that they donated at a value of $138,266. Staff, volunteers and partners raised over $67,000 to support local programs through grants, donations, and fees. Read More.
Make Ahead Meals Class

Is one of your New Year’s goals to eat healthier or eat out less? Ensure you and your family have a nutritious meal for dinner by planning ahead. Join us on January 20th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. as we learn the valuable skills of batch cooking, freezing, and preparing meals ahead. We will also explore menu planning to help ease the stress of making dinner on those busy weeknights. This in-person class has a $15.00 fee and will leave you with some goodies!

Pruning Series

Starting in January, we’re beginning our series of workshops for both professionals and homeowners who want to learn how to properly prune their ornamental trees and shrubs. Join us for part one: Pruning Ornamental Trees, on Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 1 to 3 p.m., and part two: Pruning Ornamental Shrubs, on Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Each of these free, hands-on courses will be held at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center. Prior registration for each of these events is required.
4-H Seeking Input

N.C. Cooperative Extension in Currituck County is conducting a survey to determine issues and needs in our community related to the areas of 4-H and Youth Development. Your responses to this survey will help your local Extension office develop programs and materials that best meet the needs of youth in our county.
