Project Record Books Due!

As the 2021 4-H Year comes to a close, it is time to start thinking about turning in your project record books! Each Yancey County 4-H member is encouraged to submit a Project Record Book. A Project Record Book is a record where youth track and record their activities, events, skill development and learning experiences over the past year. Topics include everything from livestock, to shooting sports, to crafting and more!

Click the link below to learn more about 4-H project record books, to access the template, and how to complete them. We will also be holding several Project Record Book Workshops. During these times, you can get one-on-one help from Ms. Jordan with completing your record book. Click here to sign up for a workshop time.

Remember that each 4-H'er (ages 8 and up) will get a $25 gift card if they submit a complete Project Record Book!

2021 Project Record Books are due to the Yancey County Cooperative Extension Office by 5:00pm on Friday, February 4th, 2022.

Register Now- 2022 4-H Summer Camp

There are few tools as powerful as the camp experience to positively impact the lives of young people. Whether it’s through nurturing social skills, building self-confidence, re-connecting kids with nature, or supporting positive peer to peer relationships, North Carolina 4-H Camp has the power to transform the lives of every child that walks through our doors.

Yancey County 4-H will be camping at Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Educational Center in June 19-24, 2022. We will be camping with Madison and Henderson counties from the West district, along with Ashe, Beaufort, Edgecombe and Nash counties from other parts of the State.

Children ages 8-12 can attend traditional 4-H camp. The 4-H Camp tuition is $500, which is all-inclusive of your child’s six-day experience at an accredited camping center. To reserve your child’s spot for 2022, a $75 deposit is required, which goes towards the camp total. Scholarships are available through Yancey County 4-H. Contact Jordan for more information.
