Yancey County 4-H Newsletter

February, 2022
2022 4-H Re-enrollment

Re-enrollment will use the same system as last year, called 4-H Online. Please note that effective January 1, 2022, only youth members and 4-H volunteers who are enrolled in 4-HOnline will be considered active members and / or certified 4-H volunteers. Active membership status will be required for individuals to participate in 4-H member activities, events, programs, 4-H trips, as well as for participation as a 4-H volunteer leader.

NC 4-H operates on a calendar year and as such enrollment begins annually on Jan. 1st. For families with an existing 4-HOnline account, you will need to:

  1. Login to your family profile
  2. Review and update youth member/volunteer information as needed. The system will walk you through each of the required sections. Note: Some sections of the application must be completed annually while others just ask that you review areas for any needed changes.
  3. When you have updated all of the information click "Enroll for 2022-2023". Your membership status will be updated and sent to your local 4-H office for approval.
Youth profiles should take approximately 10 – 15 minutes to update and submit. Volunteer profiles will take 20 - 25 minutes which includes the annual required training video.

Click the following links to access the 4-HOnline system and a link to a "tipsheet" for the re-enrollment process.

2022 4-H Camp

Spaces are filling up quickly for our 2022 trip to 4-H Camp!

There are few tools as powerful as the camp experience to positively impact the lives of young people. Whether it’s through nurturing social skills, building self-confidence, re-connecting kids with nature, or supporting positive peer to peer relationships, North Carolina 4-H Camp has the power to transform the lives of every child that walks through our doors.
Yancey County 4-H will be camping at Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Educational Center in June 19-24, 2022. We will be camping with Madison and Henderson counties from the West district, along with Ashe, Beaufort, Edgecombe and Nash counties from other parts of the State.
Children ages 8-12 can attend traditional 4-H camp. The 4-H Camp tuition is $500, which is all-inclusive of your child’s six-day experience at an accredited camping center. To reserve your child’s spot for 2022, a $75 deposit is required, which goes towards the camp total. Scholarships are available through Yancey County 4-H. Contact Jordan for more information.
