4-H in the News
Boots and Breeches 4-H Club held an interest meeting on Sunday, January 23, 2022 and had great attendance. Their next meeting will be held Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Foothills Equestrian Center, 531 Starnes Lane, Taylorsville, NC 28681.  New members are welcome to attend!
4-H Garden Club met in January, where they learned about the similarities and differences between climate and weather. They learned that weather is short-term conditions that are happening day-to-day, where climate is an average of the weather conditions for a certain region over a period of time (usually a 30 year span). Our youth learned where our weather comes from, ways we can measure weather, and how both weather and climate affect gardening and the natural world around us. Each member got to make their own weather stations that will allow them to observe weather events daily where they live! Next meeting will be held February 7, 2022.  The group activity will be a plantable valentine.
Shockers 4-H Club met were not able to meet in January due to weather.   The club will meet again on Tuesday, February 1st at 6:30 p.m. to make up their missed January meeting, and then again on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 for their February meeting.  They will welcome any new members!
