Introducing "Thirty Second Run Down"

N.C. Cooperative Extension in Currituck has a new monthly feature designed to inform the public about the impacts and results of the programs offered.  “Thirty Second Run Down” is a very brief video look at how Extension in Currituck puts your investment to work for positive results in our community.  We’ll be sharing this feature monthly via our email newsletter.

You can also subscribe to our YouTube channel (

Small Fruit Workshop

Are you interested in starting your own fruit or berry plants? Maybe you’ve grown them in the past, and had no luck, or maybe you’re looking for a more bountiful harvest. If this sounds like you, or if you’re interested in fruits and berries, N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center has the class for you. This March, we will be offering a FREE 3-hour, hands-on class where we’ll cover pruning, mulching, dormant season fungicide sprays, site selection, planting, and more! Plants covered will include: peaches, blueberries, grapes, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries.
Public Speaking

A 2019 study by the National Institute of Health lists public speaking as the number one fear for adult Americans. In fact, 75% of American adults fear public speaking, which ranks ahead of fear of death, spiders and heights; and this often leads to avoidance of any situation requiring public speaking. However, learning how to become an effective public speaker can be the key difference between success and failure in your life at home, at work and in your community. Currituck 4-H can help youth master this valuable skill early in life.
