Lego Robotics Stem
STEM Enrichment Program

Youth with little or no experience with robotics or programming will learn how to build and program Lego Mindstorm robots. This class introduces basic programming concepts while student work in teams to complete a variety of challenges using different motors and sensors. Classes will be held on Thursdays at Nash Community College. Register Here

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI or “bird flu”) is a real threat to the poultry industry in North Carolina, the United States, and other poultry producing countries around the globe. Surveillance testing by the USDA has confirmed the presence of the virus in at least five states already this year. Waterfowl in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, and Maryland have tested positive in recent weeks. Now a commercial flock of turkeys in Indiana has tested positive as well. There is a need for immediate action from all of those associated with poultry and the poultry industry. Learn more:

Virtual Volunteer Training Series
Starting February 28th
Virtual Volunteer Training Series North Carolina 4-H will be hosting a bimonthly virtual volunteer training series for all 4-H volunteers. All registration will be done through 4-H Online and sessions will be held over Zoom. In order to participate in these sessions, participants are expected to have a computer camera (with the camera turned on) and a microphone. Teen Retreat

Saturday March 12th from 10am - 6 pm
Youth ages 12-18 are encouraged to attend this event. The cost is $55 per person. It will be held at the Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia, NC.

Teen retreat consists of multiple work shops and a community service project which will be outside, so dress comfortably.

Blessing Box

Located at 1006 Eastern Avenue in Nashville
The Nash County 4-H Blessing Box is located on the southeast corner of the Nash County Arboretum in Nashville. The Blessing Box is a miniature pantry open to the public and is stocked with non-perishable food items, basic toiletries, baby supplies and anything else that might be considered a blessing to someone who finds themselves in need. The box is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are interested in donating to the box please call 252.459.9810.

Nash County 4-H Lending Library

The Nash County 4-H Teen Clovers have set up a children's Lending Library outside the Nash County Agriculture Center in Nashville. The Lending Library has been set up for parents, grandparents or a caring adult to borrow books to share with their children at home. Simply pick up a book and when you are finished return it and pick up another one.
This library is available to the public.
