Public speaking skills need improving or would you like to become more confident when you have to give a speech???

4-H Presentations
are a huge part of North Carolina 4-H. It is one of the most successful ways to help a young person learn how to do a public speech. It focuses on members teaching others what they know about a particular project/subject matter. They are sometimes called demonstrations or illustrated talk or a formal speech.

We encourage 4-H'ers and parents to go ahead and be discussing whether or not they would like to participate this year.  If you are interested please contact the Alexander County 4-H Center at 828-632-3125 immediately.  4-H Presentations cannot be completed overnight and the sooner we know the sooner we can begin practicing.

Attention Volunteers!!

4-H Garden Club
in February, our youth learned about recycling and reusing! They used recycled paper to make THEIR OWN paper! While it was still wet, they added wildflower seeds. When their paper hearts and other shapes they made dried, the seeds would stay in place! These perfect Valentine's gifts could then be planted and watered to get those pressed seeds to grow! Who knew it would be so fun to recycle and repurpose!  The next 4-H Garden Club will be Thursday, March 10.  Please make plans to join in on the horticulture fun!

Shockers 4-H Club met in February and played an electrical quiz game consisting of the many terminologies used in electrical applications.  Join them at their next meeting on March 22, 2022 to explore electrochemistry. They will welcome any new members!
Southern Grace 4-H Club used sewing machines and worked together to sew 17 sweet baby tag blankets for their February meeting. Three were for baby gifts for Extension Staff and 14 were donated to the Caring Hearts Pregnancy Center!  Their next meeting will be Thursday, March 17th.  Accepting new members!!
Whisk it Up 4-H Club met in February and learned how to make cake pops. The girls learned to crumble the cake, mix it up and make the pops and how to decorate them. Join them for their next meeting on Thursday, March 24th.  New members welcome!
