Alexander County 4-H
Newsletter

April 2022
Update from D.J.....
I am officially back from paternity leave!!  While it may have seemed like I was gone forever, it flew by for me.  It seems like I spent most of that time changing diapers, washing bottles and doing endless laundry, but I am so thankful for that time I got to spend with my family.  I wanted to say thank you to all of my awesome volunteers for their patience while I was away and everyone who has reached out to say congratulations, give gifts or just check on the boys.  Xander and Avery are doing great!!  They are growing very fast. It's so hard to believe how small they once were.  Being a new father is awesome and I can't wait for them to participate in 4-H events in the future.  I have included a picture of my sons Avery is on the left and Xander the right.

ALL 4-H members and volunteers MUST be enrolled in 4-H Online to participate in any programs or clubs that are provided by Alexander County 4-H.

For more information and to start the enrollment process please visit the following link:

Are you looking for a week long overnight camp experience???? see below for more info....
Public speaking skills need improving or would you like to become more confident when you have to give a speech???

4-H Presentations
are a huge part of North Carolina 4-H. It is one of the most successful ways to help a young person learn how to do a public speech. It focuses on members teaching others what they know about a particular project/subject matter. They are sometimes called demonstrations or illustrated talk or a formal speech.

We encourage 4-H'ers and parents to go ahead and be discussing whether or not they would like to participate this year.  If you are interested please contact the Alexander County 4-H Center at 828-632-3125 immediately.  4-H Presentations cannot be completed overnight and the sooner we know the sooner we can begin practicing.
