Robowolves Back In Action!
On Saturday, January 8th, the Anson County 4-H robotics club kicked off their robotics season after a one-year hiatus due to COVID. The last time the Robowolves competed was two years ago at the FIRST Robotics district competition at UNC-Pembroke when they placed first. Although going through a rebuild season, the 3661 RoboWolves were excited about brainstorming, designing, and building a robot for this year’s competition. 4-H Club Leader and Anson Senior High science teacher, Steffany Labree continues to do an amazing job providing an awesome learning opportunity for youth and she is optimistic about the season. The Robowolves will compete again this Saturday at UNC-Pembroke for the 2022 FIRST Robotics competition.  Good luck RoboWolves!
2022 Winter Enrichment

Winter Enrichment is hosted annually in our district, the South-Central District, which consists of 19 counties and is open to teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18.  This is a teen leadership opportunity for teens to participate in a business meeting, workshops, cultural experiences, and other fun, engaging activities.  On Saturday, January 15, Cabarrus County hosted the 2022 South Central District’s Winter Enrichment at the Gem Theatre in Kannapolis, NC.  The day included a business meeting, group activities, a viewing of the movie: Hidden Figures, and a scavenger hunt in downtown Kannapolis!

NC 4-H Volunteer Leaders' Conference and Spring Volunteer Training.

There was some back and forth on whether or not the 2022 Volunteer Leaders' Conference would be held in-person but ultimately the conference was canceled due to COVID. The Association still met virtually on Saturday, February 5 from 10:00 - 11:30 am for a business meeting. The statewide business meeting included electing state officers and voting on bylaw and constitution changes. After the statewide meeting, districts had the opportunity to go into breakout rooms for district business meetings. The Volunteer Leaders' Conference committee is planning to have a face-to-face Spring Training Day where they will recognize award winners and host workshops and networking opportunities. This event will be on May 21, 2022 at the Jane McKimmon Center in Raleigh.  4-H Volunteers interested in learning more about the Spring NC 4-H Volunteer Leaders' Training Day or submitting a workshop proposal visit:
