Pressure Canner Testing
It’s very important that the method you use to preserve your food, especially canned foods, is done correctly to prevent spoilage. If you plan on pressure canning this summer, be sure your pressure canner is in good shape and equipped to do the job. Contact FCS Agent, Kim Terrell, to have your dial gauge tested on your canner for FREE!

Master Gardeners
Japanese Beetles

Japanese beetles will be showing up in gardens soon. The adults emerge from the soil and like to feed on many of our favorite ornamentals, including roses & crape myrtles. The damage done to foliage and flowers of ornamental plants is mostly aesthetic, though there are insecticides that can be used. If you choose to use an insecticide, be sure to read and follow the label directions and take all precautions to protect beneficial insects and pollinators.
