4-H & Youth Development Children Learning about Gardening | Update Students in Hayesville's Discovery after school program have been hard at work learning about gardening. Most recently, 4-H Agent, Julie Lyvers, teamed up with local volunteers to build
3 raised beds that the students have planted their crops in.
The North Carolina Agricultural Chemicals Manual provides extension specialists and agents, researchers, and professionals in the agriculture industry with information on the selection, application, and safe and proper use of agricultural chemicals. The manual is revised annually offering a wealth of up-to-date and reliable information covering pesticides, fertilizers, application equipment, specimen identification, growth regulators, and the control of
insects, diseases, weeds, and animals.
Landscaping with native plants empowers gardeners to care for nature and enhance the local environment while adding beauty and diversity to their homesites. By planting natives, gardeners support native pollinators and connect with the natural heritage of a region.
It is with sadness that NCCE Clay
County Center announces the resignation of Lisa Gonzalez, CED & Agriculture Agent. Lisa joined our team in 2020 and has been instrumental in providing support and education to improve the lives of those in Clay County. Her inspiring leadership has not only left a lasting impression on us, but on the citizens of Clay County as well. While we will miss her and her vision and passion for Extension, we wish her the best of luck in her new endeavors!
