Congratulations to Our Youth Completing Livestock Projects!

Over the weekend, our Beef Club showed at the WNC Mountain State Fair and concluded the 2022 WNC Dairy Steer Project. Multiple youth in Beef Club won individual class awards at the Beef Show! Click the link at the bottom for more information about these youth and their awards.

Our Tri-County Chick to Chicken and Tri-County Small Animal programs concluded with their show at the Avery County Fair.

Our Livestock Club members showed their pigs and goats at the Avery County Fair, and will show at the WNC Mountain State Fair this upcoming weekend (September 16th-18th).

We are so proud of all of these youth for their hard work in their livestock projects this year. These programs would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our 4-H volunteers, so we would like to say a BIG thank you to all of our 4-H volunteers. A special shout out to our Beef Club volunteers Lynn Austin, Barry Austin, April McCurry and Adam McCurry, and Livestock Club volunteer Amber Hammond for the hard work and dedication they put in to teaching these youth skills they will use for the rest of their lives!

Kimberly and JJ are the adult and teen volunteer leaders for our 4-H Arts & Crafts Club! Arts & Crafts Club is open to youth ages 5-18! Kimberly and her son, JJ, both have a passion for sharing their love of arts & crafts with Yancey County youth. Each month, youth participate in a variety of different projects which they get to take home with them, from painting, to mosaics and more!
